I’m Nicole Ventura (she/they), a creative who is driven by a desire to collaborate with people who are as passionately dedicated to their craft as I am.
Full-time Baker by day, freelance Designer by night. My abilities to communicate effectively, think mindfully, plan diligently, learn curiously, and create open heartedly make me an asset to any project or team I’m on. I’m currently based in my hometown in the Greater Vancouver, BC Canada region and am open to any freelance design opportunities that align with my values and career goals.
In my role as a freelance designer, and agency roles at Redstamp and Wallop, I have accumulated over six years of experience providing thoughtful UX/UI design for websites and digital products, content support and management, and crafting impactful digital design solutions. As a self-employed designer, I effectively manage my own projects, clients, and work myself while also collaborating closely with clients to come up with a shared vision everyone involved is happy with and proud of. At Redstamp, I progressed my design and communication skills by supporting a cross-functional team, contributing to the creation and management of design systems, and maintaining SaaS client websites. At Wallop, I developed expertise in modular design practices tailored to unique travel and hospitality brands, while also gaining proficiency in the WordPress CMS environment and working with developers. In 2018, I started my design journey when graduating from BCIT with a Certificate with Distinction from the New Media Design and Web Development program. These experiences have equipped me with a solid foundation to contribute effectively to diverse projects and teams.

My other hobbies are mostly ones I do at home. I love reading, doing yoga and meditating, playing video games, cooking and baking, expressing myself through art, watching TV and movies and playing board games.
I’m also very passionate about long-form travel – and spent 2020-2023 living and solo travelling places for extended periods of time. During COVID, I travelled to many places around my province I wouldn’t have otherwise gone to and lived in places such as Victoria, Quadra Island, and Salt Spring Island. I then spent 3 months living on the Azorean island of São Miguel (in Portugal) wanting to better understand my ancestry and get to know my family. Shortly afterwards making my way to the island of Kaua’i in Hawai’i for 4 months to do a work-trade on a local farm to learn about gardening, spend ample time in nature, and build community. My final journey was my biggest one yet, which was living and working abroad in Australia for 8 months – which is something I had dreamed of doing for so many years. I believe all of these experiences have broadened my perspective, shaped who I am and have not only made me a better person, but a better designer, too.
